About Me

I started and operate Menagerie Maid Pet Sitting because I am owned by, and the maid to, two parrots, four cats, and a dog. Though it is fairly easy to get someone to agree to come in and care for your cats, try to find someone qualified and willing to care for your birds, or multiple animals in their own home! After diligent research, I rapidly realized there was a need in the general University Place area for quality in-home pet care. All of my "Fildren" are rescues and have taken over my heart and home. I've included photos of each on the website. Here are their statistics so you can figure out which one is which. Tara, my Blue and Gold Macaw, is 21. Patrick, my Eclectus, just turned 12. RIP Simon and Chili. Our cats are special treasures too. Mewliette is a Ragdoll and just turned 12. Sadie and Sophie (the twins) are Seal Point Siamese and are 8. Not to be left out is our short-haired, gray terrorist named Shelby who will turn two on Thanksgiving Day. In case you missed it, our animals are our "Fildren" (furry or feathered children). Our home is set up for the comfort of all seven of them. We move the birds with us from room to their assorted play areas around the house. They have even taken over one of the upstairs bedrooms as their own for sleep-time and when I am not at home. The room has their cages, Ott lights on timers, air cleaners as well as TV and radio for their amusement. The cats also have a room of their own, but roam the entire house as they wish. We are occasionally "allowed" to sit on the couch with them. We've even added a cat-safe deck that's about 20' X 18' for their enjoyment. I get the concept of animals being family and will treat yours according to the specifications you give me at our initial meeting. I am very experienced with birds and have owned and cared for many assorted varieties. Who could resist a chattering 'tiel or a cage of charming 'keets? Companion pets like cats and dogs have been in my life since I was a tiny girl and I love them. In fact, I was raised on a farm where we bred German Shepherd puppies, and actually know how to feed and care for horses and cows as well. Though I will care for other companion pets like hamsters and fish, I draw the line when it comes to snakes. I won't enter a house that has them and leave that care to one of my co-workers. I consider my ability to love on animals as an occupation a total privilege and look forward to the opportunity to care for yours.LICENSED AND BONDED WITH REFERENCES
